There are not that many places on the internet African women can go to get healthier recipes that are realistic to what they eat on a daily basis.
When I was growing up, I struggled with my weight. Even though I was active in sports, I still came home to pounded yam or rice most nights.

I never thought our foods were bad, but I wanted to lose weight and didn't have any references for what a "good African diet" looked like.
The fitness industry tells us that in order to look a certain way we should conform to a specific diet void of our culture.
And as great as broccoli and grilled chicken are, they weren't for me sis. I only stuck to my goals because it didn't feel like I was giving up the foods I loved.
