Oat Fufu. This is a Nigerian swallow recipe that is high in fiber and takes less than 10 minutes to make. It pairs well with Egusi Soup, Oha Soup, Okra soup, and many other soup recipes.
Oat fufu has become a staple in West African countries since there has been a rise in high blood pressure and diabetes within the community.
Don't feel like you need to eliminate swallows all together to live a healthier lifestyle. Combining portion control and swapping in oatmeal flour will help in the long run.
Is Oatmeal Fufu Good for Weight Loss?
Oat fufu has the same health benefits as oatmeal. The only difference is how you decide to eat it. Oats are one of the healthiest grains on the planet. It's whole grain, gluten-free, and has 4 grams of fiber per serving.
Increased fiber means you are full longer which aids in fat loss.
The antioxidants found in oats are known to lower blood pressure and reduce blood sugar levels.
Other swallow options are made from refined flour which doesn't provide the most nutritional value.
Ingredients Needed for Oat Fufu
- Oatmeal flour. I made the oat flour from scratch by putting whole oats in a food processor. If you don't have time, you can buy already-made flour.
- Water.
