    Goat Pepper Soup

Goat Pepper Soup is the G.O.A.T (see what I did there). It is the most popular of all light soups. The tender pieces of goat meat and spices are perfect for any time of day. Since it is a high-protein meal, just worry about what to eat it with. It goes best with rice, yam, or fufu.

During my weight loss journey I loved making goat pepper soup.

It was filling, I measured my food, and I didn't feel like I was "dieting."

There is nothing worse than being hungry and knowing you aren't about to chop well ohhh..

And since this recipe was easy to make, it was a quick option for me.

    Ingredients for Goat Pepper Soup

    • Goat meat cubes. I bought my goat already sliced and cubed. You can find goat meat in most ethnic grocery stores
    • Yellow/white onions. Chopped and set aside.
    • pepper soup spice. Be careful not to use too much. It can make your soup bitter.
    • Nchanwu leaves. Also known as "scent leaves". They can be found in most African Markets.
    • Ground Uziza.
    • Habanero peppers. Add more or less depending on your spice tolerance. You can even use cayenne pepper or Cameroon pepper.
    • Olive oil. Any light oil will do. Do not use palm oil.

    • Adjust salt and pepper to tolerance and enjoy!

Is Pepper Soup Good for Fat Loss?

Because this recipe is a light soup, it has very few ingredients that would add unnecessary calories. Protein-rich foods will help stop cravings and keep you full longer. The goat in this recipe provides almost 50 grams of lean protein per serving. It will make a significant impact on your protein intake for the day.

Soups, in general, are more filling. It is the same concept behind feeling full after chugging water.

    Helpful Tips

    • The pepper soup spice is mandatory. If you want to make it from scratch follow this recipe.
    • Some people like to add ginger for freshness and health benefits. Fresh or dry is fine.
    • Pepper soup can be made with any meat you want, including fish.

Honestly, this recipe looked way too simple so I was skeptical, but it was so good and so spot on. My husband is Nigerian and he loved it
