How to Use Frozen Green Beans
I personally love frozen vegetable recipes.
Fun fact: Frozen vegetables are flash-frozen right after being picked. They are then packaged and transported to a grocery store.
Fresh produce is picked and shipped and usually en route for days before it reaches the grocery store.
...And who wants jet-lagged vegetables.
Frozen green beans can be used in soups, casseroles, or simply as a side dish. Depending on how you make them, they can be crunchy or soft and chewy.
I love them sautéed with minimal ingredients which make for an effortless meal prep
Ingredients for This Recipe
- chopped garlic. Since we are using a little bit of oil, try not to finely chop the garlic. The small the pieces, the quicker it burns.
- salt. You know I love Himalayan Pink Salt, but any salt will do.
- black pepper. Ground or freshly ground.
- olive oil. Light olive oil or avocado oil will do.

Frequently Asked Questions.
No need to! Defrosting them would release the water and cause them to cook a little soggy.
Blanching helps to flash cook the green beans. This keeps them crunchy and slightly undercooked. This also shortens the cooking time when it is time to sauté them in garlic.
3 Tips for Making Perfect Green Beans
- Choose the right cut. Use whole green beans. In my experience, cut green beans and French cut tend to get soggy and mushy while cooking.
- Switch up the spices. Season with smoked paprika, onion powder, and crushed peppers for a little pizazz.
- Add toppings. Get creative by adding chopped turkey bacon, or shredded Parmesan cheese.
